Week 9

This past week was a pretty quiet week and Jaydyn and I hung out around the house.
We did however go to the pediatricians office for Jaydyns two month check up.  Here are the little chunkers stats for 2 months:
Weight: 11lbs 9oz     50 percentile
Length: 24.5 inches     95+ percentile
Head Measurement: 15.5 inches     30 percentile
While she is spot on for weight, she is on the higher scale for length.  Being that she is only 2 months old, she is wearing 6 month Carters pajamas.  I went through her closet the other day and had to sort through the newborn clothes and the 3 month old clothes.  It is not just length of her legs that are causing the outfits to not fit, it is more of the torso length.
Since we had a quiet week, here are some photos:
Grandpa Hendricks and Jaydyn snuggling in the Lay-Z Boy!!
This is my serious face!
I am ALWAYS SUPER happy!
Cute outfit Jaydyn got from one of my old friends.  Gotta love ladybugs and that funny hat.  She didnt mind wearing the hat, just didnt like the fact that it kept sliding down over her eyes!
Getting too big for my bassinet!
So small for such a big couch!!

Week 7 & 8

This past week we went to Orlando to the IKEA store and spent about 4 hours there, then went to Nordstroms Rack.  I think I had more fun in Nordstons Rack than IKEA.  The problem with IKEA was that it was in Orlando on a holiday.  Without thinking we drove down there and the place was packed.  I am not a fan of crowds, so I ended up getting more frustrated with the IDIOTS in the store than enjoying looking around at the items.  Ended up only spending $40, but spent quite a bit more at Nordstroms Rack.

Jaydyn did great traveling.  She slept the whole way down to Orlando (2.5 hours) and then stayed awake the whole time in IKEA.  She took a bottle before Nordstrom’s Rack and then was out.  She slept the whole way home and when we reached Orange Park (15 mintues away from home) she decided that she was hungry.  When the lil one decides she is hungry…. She wants a bottle then.  There is no calming her down, so I had to pull over and feed her. Thirty minutes later we were headed home.

Last week I also met up with a friend that I have not seen since about 2002.  She was my bestfriend starting in 1st grade and then we lost track of each other when we ended up going to different high schools here in Jacksonville.   It happened that we were both pregnant at the same time and reconnected through Facebook.  Her daughter was born 21 days after Jaydyn.  I am certainly hoping that we can move back to Mandarin and both of them grow up together as friends.  That would be SUPERLY (I am aware that isn’t a word) awesome.  We met up and had a lunch, which was great to finally get together again.

Yesterday we decided to take a long road trip to Lizella, Georgia.  It is 266 miles each way.  We got up at 5am and left the house at 7am, finally got on the road at 7:30 am and made it to Jaydyns great grandmothers house at 12:15pm.  Not only was Jaydyn meeting her great grandmother for the first time, she got to spend some quality time with Grandma Susan and Grandpa Pops.  After spending 2.5 hours at her house we headed home.

I fed Jaydyn a bottle before we left and of course after 24 miles on the road, she decided that she was hungry again.  I had to pull over in a Cracker Barrels parking lot and feed her.   Here are some pictures of her face, so you can see how sad her eyes look since she was crying.  The way she cries you would think that I never feed her. (Disclaimer: She eats A LOT and you can tell by the size of those thighs J).

That of course put us another 30 minutes behind the travel time, but she slept all of the way home until we hit the Brannen Field exit (5 minutes from the house) that she decided that she was hungry.  Being that we were only 5 minutes from home I decided to continue home, in hopes that she would have some kind of patience.  Well….. I was not so lucky. When  got home she was sooo upset that her eyes were red and she had alligator tears in her eyes (Poor little one L).
After much consideration of what to make for my husband for Fathers Day, I decided to do something with her hands and/or footprints.  I got Jaydyn awake this morning and laid her on a towel on the floor.  Pulled out the tempra paint, black stamp pad and some white paper to create a picture for Chad and for my father.  Lets just say… paint, stamp pad and a 2 months old is not the easiest or cleanest craft to create.  I started with the feet and Jaydyn just kicked the whole time and I ended up with half of the ink on myself.  Being brave I undressed her (just had her diaper on) and then tried to stamp her hands.  Well she uses her hands more than I realized.  We ended up with a hand print around an eye, a print on the stomach and black streaks in her hair.  Those were just the major ones.  We had smudges everywhere.  I wish I got a photo of it, but I myself was wearing quite a bit of ink too.
Here is a picture of her feet after they were cleaned.  I was not able to get the ink out from underneath her toenails, so I guess we are going to have to have a long bath tonight to get the rest of it out.

I also got a picture of the ink that is still on her nose.

If you know my father, please don’t show him this picture, but this is what he will be getting for Fathers Day from Jaydyn.  I already mailed Chads to him, so I didn’t get a picture of it before I mailed it, but it is really close to the one my father is getting.

Here are some photos from the past two weeks:
